PICTURES
A collaboration with artist Richard Benari.
These images explore the camera’s ability to push beyond depiction while still acknowledging its indexical tie to the real. They comprise abstract studies of the landscape, the built environment and studio-made constructions, focusing on the physical qualities of the materials and subjects photographed. Narrative is absent; scale is ambiguous. Meaning is conveyed through a pared-down and plain-spoken language meant to provoke a visceral response to sculptural form.
